Favorites: January and February 2018

While I may not have posted anything on this blog for a year, I've definitely kept up with trying out new products in the past year. Some of my favorites have stayed the same, while some changed. Below are the products I'm currently enjoying and has become a staple in my everyday life.

Beauty Favorites:

  1. Tom Ford Fiber Brow Gel in Espresso - I've been on the go a lot lately, and find that just having my brows done makes a lot of difference to my look, sans makeup. Because of this, I was on a hunt for a good brow gel that added color to my brows, but not too much where it made made my brows look dramatic against my bare face. I found that this product was the best solution for that problem. I really like that it's a more neutral-toned dark brown, because I find that most brow gels in the deep brown category tend to have a lot of red undertones to them which is a no-go for me. I also like that it isn't so deep where it makes my brows too dark either.
  2. Chanel Sculpting Eyebrow Pencil in Noir Cendre - I love using this brow pencil for both getting a more filled-in brows and also together with the Tom Ford Brow Gel to help softly define my brows. The color is a dark gray tone, which I find works well with my fine black hair on my eyebrows.
  3. It Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC Creme in Tan and Rich - Talk about about a beautiful matte lightweight foundation that's full-coverage! I recently discovered this product because I wanted to try out a new foundation that did not feel heavy on the skin. This was suggested to me by a Sephora employee because she liked how it was full-coverage but lightweight and also had lots of great skincare benefits. I definitely agree with how well it covers and how lightweight it is. As for it's skincare benefits? So far I've definitely noticed that it doesn't clog my pores at all!
  4. Guerlain Terracota Bronzing Powder in 07 Fonce Dore - As I've said in my previous post, I've recently been from a beach vacation that's definitely gotten me tanner. This bronzer is just perfect in giving my face a beautiful warmth!
  5. Kate Somerville ExfoliKate - This has been a phenomenal skincare product that's really helped with clarifying and clearing out my skin. I find that it also helps with unclogging my pores and just helps me have a smooth and glowing skin.
  6. Kiss Faux Mink Lashes in Little Black Dress - Favorite false lashes, EVER! I love how these lashes look so natural on me. As I have small hooded eyelids, it can sometimes be very tricky for me to find lashes that don't look too overwhelming on my eyes. I find that these just give my lashes a very wispy look, and they're not too long on me.
  7. Oil Blotting Sheets - I'm generally very oily, but lately, I find that I only really get oily on my T-zone. These have been my savior in keeping my skin more matte. I've always used oil blotting sheets, but have never really been obsessed with using them as my go-to touch up method for my oily face up until recently.
  8. Dark Gray/Black Eyeshadow as Eyeliner - I've been really into using this as a method of doing my eyeliner with a thin angled eyeliner brush. It helps create the illusion of natural fuller-lashes and opens up my eyes. The best part? It gives my eyes a very effortless look - almost like I didn't even put much of anything on my eyes aside from mascara!
  9. Chanel Le Volume Mascara - I've always been a sworn Chanel Inimitable Mascara fan, however, over the Holidays, my friend recommended this mascara because of how well it volumizes the lashes and holds their curl. I am so glad I listened to her and tried this for myself because I am in love with this mascara!

Non-Beauty Favorites:

  1. Coconut Water - I've been in love with drinking this as an alternative to water. It has a very refreshing taste and perfect for keeping myself hydrated!
  2. Dreamy Coffee Shops - As some of you know, I'm die-hard Starbucks fan, however, I've been so in love with doing my blog work and other business plans and research in different independent coffee shops allover the city. I find that they give me the perfect vibe to keep working and stay productive!
  3. iPhone X - To say that I am obsessed with my new iPhone would be an understatement! I pretty much love all its new features, from FaceID to the camera quality and the larger screen!
  4. Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer - The problem with working out a lot is I get very sweaty easily. This means that using heavier moisturizer and body creams can be tricky in between workouts because sometimes I tend to feel gross once I sweat later on. This moisturizer has been a life savior for me because it keeps me moisturized without feeling sticky and gross in the middle of my workouts.

What I'm Looking Forward to in the Next Few Months:

  1. Spring Makeup Launches - There are so many exciting makeup launches that is happening in the next few months, and I am all for trying these exciting new products! Definitely can't wait to try the new Natasha Denona Tropic Palette and MAC Fix+ Matte, just to name a few. I'm debating of doing a post about upcoming makeup launches for Spring. Let me know below of you'd be interested in that type of post.
  2. AIR Yoga - Tried this workout class a few times last week, and oh my goodness, it was the best upper body workout my body needed! Definitely stoked to add this workout class in my workout rotation!
  3. Wedding and Prom Season - It's about to kickoff and I cannot wait to beautify my clients' faces for their own special day! Being a makeup artist has always been such a rewarding job and experience for me!

That is all my beauties! I hope you enjoyed learning about my current favorites. I am so excited for the upcoming posts I have to share with you this month! Also, let me know if there's any product you would like me to try and feature in this blog.
