Review: ABH Modern Renaissance Palette

I've been on the fence with trying out this new palette, because I heard quite a bit of mixed reviews with this palette, however, because this is a palette that ABH is making permanent in their line (although it's always out of stock) I felt the need to try it out and review it here on the blog.

So first of, this palette has 14 shades and retails for $42.00 pretty much anywhere ABH products are sold. The color scheme definitely leans very warm towards the rust and berry family which most people would like, especially sinceI'm seeing that there's a big trend towards warmer rusty shades at the moment. I'm very impressed with the color selection in this palette because it is definitely one of the first ones I've seen to have these very warm color selection. When this palette was first released in the Summer, I was a little bit skeptical of it because I felt like the color scheme was a little out of place, however, now that Fall is here, I am definitely digging all of the berry and red-ish tones in this palette!

The shadows in this palette are very pigmented. Some of the matte shades does tend to be quite powdery, which I find is quite usual to ABH shadows. I don't have a big issue with this because I don't think it's because they are chalky, but rather the formulation is just very soft for the matte shades. The shimmery shades are also very fine and quite creamy. I must say that when it comes to the berry and reddish brown eyeshadows, I am quite skeptical because they usually don't stay as warm on m. I was very pleased when they stayed the same warm color on my eyes as they were when I applied them. The shadows in this palette wore very well throughout the day. They did not really fade that much at the end of the day, which is a big thing for me when testing eyeshadow quality.

Overall, I do recommend this palette if you are a fan of warm, rusty and berry shades. I think it's quite nice that Anastasia is making it a permanent palette because it gives a very good sampling of their eyeshadows. It is a good deal for the price and definitely quite unique from other eyeshadow palettes out there -- although I must say, the Huda Beauty Rose Gold palette's color scheme is quite similar! I'm curious to see if other Makeup Companies will start coming out with their own version of these warm palette.

Are you into these very warm-tone eyeshadows? Would you wear a very warm berry and rust eyeshadow color-scheme on your eyes? Let me know in the comments!
