Review: Laura Geller Baked Gelato Swirl Illuminators

So, I've had these products from a while and intended to review them, but just got around to doing it now. I've heard so much buzz about these highlighters especially the shade in Gilded Honey because many people compared it to Whisper of Gilt by MAC. Of course I had to see them for myself, because I'm not one to shy away from trying another highlighter, even if I have enough to last me a lifetime! LOL!

I went to Ulta to initially check out the shade in Gilded Honey, but because I am such a sucker for highlighters especially ones that have some sort of rose gold tone to them, I had to pick up Ballerina and Peach Glow with Gilded Honey as well. Each Illuminator costs $26 for 0.16 oz of product. I'm not gonna lie, I thought the price was pretty steep for the amount of product you get. However, I thought I'd review them together because I saw that there is a trio palette of these three colors for sale right now, I think as a Holiday set. I figured it would be more interesting to figure out if the formulation itself is worth it, and if getting them in a set would be a better option for highlighter addicts instead of buying them one by one like I did. (I got you fellow beauty addicts!LOL)

So to start off, I do like their formulation. They are very fine and quite metallic. I like how you can build up their shine-level, instead of just have an obnoxious highlight on your face. They also wore really well throughout the day which is a big plus for me. I do feel that they are not as creamy as the Becca highlighters, which is my current favorite formulation right now. I personally love the shade Ballerina out of all of them because it is the shade I tend to prefer wearing as a highlight color on my cheeks. I  know pale golds are really popular highlight colors at the moment,  but I'm all about that rose gold-ish highlight shades! Gilded Honey is beautiful for light to medium skin tones especially more warm/olive undertones, while Pale Peach is better for light to medium skin tones with more cool undertones.

Would I recommend you to buy them? If you are into highlighters, I think you should pick up one shade that you tend to wear for highlight; I don't recommend getting all of them because to me they are overpriced on their own. If you want more than one shade or you like variety in your highlighters, I highly suggest getting the trio palette of these three right now because it is a much better price point. It costs $30.00 for 0.07 oz of product on each shade (0.21oz in total), definitely a steal for a sampling of all three. The palette is exclusive only to Nordstrom as far as I know.
