Trying Out Body Moisturizers

Losing almost 50lbs. over the last year has been one of the most rewarding journey and one of the biggest goal I've achieved. The growth I've experienced from going through that journey has been incredible, and it's definitely something that I won't take lightly. One of the main concerns with losing this much weight, however, is that it can cause a lot of stretch marks and loose skin in the process. I already have  pretty dry skin allover my body and quite a bit of stretch marks because of my drastic weight gain a few years back. With that said, I definitely made sure I was taking good care of my body's skin as I was losing weight, to minimize these effects as much as I could. In the past year I tried out so many body moisturizers, and I've found a few wonderful gems that I've started using regularly into my routine!

Products I'm currently using

  • Jergens Wet Skin - This is the OG go- to everyday moisturizer. It is the perfect lightweight moisturizer to use especially on days when I'm doing 2 workouts that are hours apart(morning and evening) but I have a few hours of living my life in between. I do not want to leave out moisturizing my skin after showering, but I also don't want to feel that gross feeling of my sweat and moisturizer fusing together during my workout. Something lightweight like this product keeps my skin hydrated, without feeling sticky or gross while I workout.
  • Keihl's Creme de Corps - If I'm not working out later in the day or don't use my Jergens Wet Skin then this is the moisturizer that I use. It is a bit more on the creamy/heavy side, but this definitely keeps my skin super hydrated and smooth!
  • Laura Mercier Souffle Body Creme and Butter - When I feel like being extra and treating myself to a super nice and good-smelling body product. These products are my go-to Winter body moisturizers that I use at least twice a week to keep my skin soft and smooth.
  • Tatcha Indigo Soothing Silk Body Butter - Another body butter that I use on rotation when I'm feeling like my skin can use some extra moisturizing. I alternate this with my Laura Mercier products. What I like most about this it that it feels a lot lighter and silky smooth on the skin compared to body butter/creams that I've tried out.
  • Shea Moisture 100% Raw Shea Butter - This body butter was what I used heavily during the Summer to keep me hydrated, especially during my beach days after I laid out tanning for a few hours. I found myself reaching out for this again because of my recent vacation to the Maldives. I use this after applying my Jergens Wet Skin, sometimes allover my body, other times on areas where I have a lot of stretch marks and definitely only in the evenings!

Products that are on my radar to try out

  • Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Bum Bum Cream - I'm really curious as to how this product will work to help me with my stretch marks and cellulite. It claims to help with smoothing the appearance of these problem areas of the  skin and with the amount of stretch marks I have, I'll definitely take all the help I can get!
  • Kopari Coconut Melt - I'm interested to see how this compares to my Raw Shea butter in terms of how it wears, hydrating the skin and also helping my skin's elasticity. Looking forward to trying this as Spring and Summer approaches here in the US.

Do you have any body products that you swear by? Also, if you have any that are especially formulated for stretch marks, please tell me below. Like I said, I'm willing to try out any product out there for stretch marks, as long as it does not break the bank for me. LOL!
