September Favorites
Hi everyone! I hope you are all having a wonderful week so far. The start of the new month also means that it's time for monthly favorites. This will be my very first Monthly Favorites post and I am so excited to share them!
Here's the list of my monthly faves for the month of September:
- Makeup Forever Aqua Brow in Shade 025 - I used to use Anastasia Dipbrow in Medium Brown all the time but always struggled with how it goes a little to dark/intense at times. I found this product one day while browsing the MUFE section of Sephora and instantly wanted to try it. I must say that I really love this and it has become my go to brow product.
- MAC Eyeshadows in Shroom, Malt, Soft Brown and Cork - Pretty much my low-maintenance eye makeup for the entire month of September! I use Malt on my lids, Soft Brown on my crease and Cork to deepen the crease. On some days, I either use Brule or Shroom for my brow highlight, depending on where I'm going and what I'm doing. I love how it offers a soft smoky brown eye look that is put together but does not require too much effort to create it!
- Sephora Mud Mask Purifying and Mattifying - Can we just talk about how great this mask is? Most of you won't know this, but one of my skincare weakness are masks. I am always on the hunt for a great facial mask - one look at my bathroom cabinet will make that evident as you see multiple masks from various brands. I was skeptical at first because I have not really used any of Sephora's skincare line apart from their sheet masks, however, my curiosity got the best of me and I took the plunge and decided to try it. Can I just say it was one of the best decisions ever? I really loved how well this mask purified my skin and made it feel so clean after using it. It also has some buffing beads in it that helps manually exfoliate your skin.
- Laura Mercier Ambre Vanille Souffle Body Creme - I've been so bad with moisturizing my body these past few months. I've always been that person who moisturized her skin right after showering, but clearly that wasn't happening anymore. One day, before school started for me, I noticed that my skin was not as soft as it used to be, so, to makeup for the lack of moisturizing, I decided to use a heavier body creme to restore my skin to how soft it used to be. I've always had various body creams that I use during the Winter months, but usually I use lighter moisturizers for Spring and Summer. A few days into using this body creme I was instantly reminded why I love this body creme so much, especially the scent! This may be a heavier moisturizer, however, it doesn't feel thick to me and it really feels like it's sinking into my skin rather than just leaving a very emollient product on my skin. The scent is also a clean musky scent that is not too strong but I think is just perfect for Fall and Winter.
- Tatcha Luminous Dewy Skin Mist - This favorite is more for my freelance kit, than it is for myself. Like I've mentioned before, I am very oil, and so it is not necessary for me to use this product. However, I have been using this on my normal to dry-skinned clients and I really love the glow this finishing spray imparts on them! It just really sets their makeup, removes any heaviness of the makeup and makes everything melt to their skin.
- Tom Ford Matte Lipstick in Pussycat and MAC Prolongwear Lip Liner in Absolutely It! - This lip combo has been my go-to Fall dark-ish neutral lip combo! It just had a good punch of color, while staying neutral. For the month of September a few people have stopped me to ask what lip products I'm wearing.
- Korres Lip Butter in Guava -Nothing beats Korres Lip Butter for ultra hydration for your lips. This has always been one of my fave lip moisturizer and I really want to share this to everyone because it is a lipsaver! With the fact that matte lipsticks are on-trend, better lip care prep is necessary to make the lipsticks look extra good on the lips. Also, it is always a good thing to take great care of your lips and keep 'em hydrated.
- JaclynHillxBecca Champagne Pop Highlighter and Real Techniques Setting Brush - When I first got this highlighter I was hesitant to use it on a day to day basis because I felt like it was a little too metallic to what I would prefer on a day to day basis as a highlighter. After playing around with the products, I found that using the Real Techniques Setting Brush is the perfect brush to use with cheek highlight, especially with this particular product. This duo-fiber brush help deliver a sheer amount of product to the cheeks that imparts a natural highlight.
For some non-beauty products:
- Dark Chocolate Ice Cream from Cold Stone - I don't know why but I've been craving this particular ice cream all month long and I've also been satisfying that craving as I happen to live nearby one. Whoops! LOL
- Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. - I watched the 2 available seasons on Netflix in a few days! I'm thankful that I finished season 2 just a little over a week before Season 3 started! I've always been a fan of the Marvel Cinematic Universe movie franchises, but watching this show just made me even more of a fan! I really love this show and how it focuses on S.H.I.E.L.D as opposed to the Superheroes. I really like the cast and their characters as well. I like seeing their evolution and how their drive to save the world unifies them at the end of the day despite some of the differences and trials they may face. I'm so excited to see how Season 3 unfolds for the show! :D
- Bose Over-Ear Headphones - I just had to add these headphones because they are what makes my commute to school bearable everyday. I commute to school via train and I like listening to audiobooks or music to pass the time. I recently got these in the beginning of September after seeing they were on sale. I've always been into great quality headphones but just couldn't justify spending $200 on them. I'm glad I finally found a price point that was more affordable and delivered the quality of sound I was looking for.
What I'm looking forward for October:
- Holiday Makeup Kits and Products that are going to be released!
- Dressing up for Halloween. What do you think you'll dress up as?
- The release of the first book of Rick Riordan's new series, Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard.
- Wearing Fall outfits- here goes leather jackets, tall boots and scarves!
- Hot cocoas and cozy nights-in!
What were some of your September favorites? And what are you looking forward to this October?
Until next time,
