Current Faves: August and September 2016
Hey everyone! I really like doing these Current Favorites Updates, especially because I've recently discovered some amazing makeup must-haves along the way! For the past 2 months, I've been using the following products pretty much everyday and swear by them.
So, without babbling to much, here are my beauty favorites:
1. Anastasia Beverly Hills Concealer in 3.75 - I've had this product for a while now, just sitting in my drawer. One day, I ran out of my MAC Prolongwear concealer and decided to use this in a pinch. I was pleasantly surprised by how well it concealed my undereye with just a little product. It also was very creamy and easy to work with. I've been using this concealer pretty much all summer and til now!
2. Etude House Brow Pencil in Dark Gray- This was a find that my cousin showed me because she is very big on Asian Beauty products. I was telling her that I always struggled finding a good brow pencil because they always tend to look to brown against my jet black, albeit fine, brow hair. She showed me this brow pencil which she has been using for years! The dark grey color was actually perfect and wore really well throughout the day. The best part? I can buy these off of Amazon for less than $3!
3. Tom Ford "Shade & Illuminate" Duet in Intensity Two- This was a product that I tried out in August becaused of Mario Dedivanovic's recommendation during his Masterclass. I took it with me to Europe during my vacation and let me tell you, I am obsessed with this product! Sooo obsessed! I love it for that added emphasis on my contour and I've even gotten compliments from my coworkers for having my contour on point.
4. MAC C'est Chic x15 Palette - I am so in love with this palette! It's all neutrals and matte colors. I bought two because this is a perfect basic all matte palette with an amazing color selection, and I wanted to have one for personal use and one in my kit as well. This is one of the palettes that I took with me on my vacation and I've been using this palette for my makeup looks for the past 3 months. You can still buy this palette at Nordstrom!
5. Giorgio Armani "Prima" Day Long Skin Perfector - Talk about a fancy primer! This is a skin care product-and-primer-in-one specifically for women with combination oily skin. What I like about it is that it really makes my foundation look so much better! I thought it wasn't doing much until I ran out of it and did not like how my foundation looked as much as I usually do. It just really makes my skin look beautiful and smooth!
6. Tatcha Pore Perfecting Water Gel Moisturizer - Love this moisturizer for night time use. I love how light it is and how healthy it makes my skin looks especially in the morning! I've also noticed that my pores have definitely shrunk down in size since I started using this.
7. Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in Firenze and Patina - These are pretty much my favorite liquid lipsticks. They are so comfortable to wear, obviously long wearing and I'm obsessed with these two colors! When I just want a neutral lip color, I don't even think twice when I grab these. They have become a staple for me and they're pretty much the only lip products I have in my purse aside from my fresh lip balm.
8. Velour Lashes in Whispie Me Away - These lashes blow me away! I have a love/hate relationship with Velour Lashes because some of them can get ruined very easily no matter how delicately you try to handle them. For roughly $30 each and only 3-4 wears after they get damaged, that price per wear is pretty steep! These are my second pair I've ever used in this style and both times I wore them at least 30 times, maybe even more.
9. Chanel Contour Eyeshadow Brush #20 - I've pretty much been using this eyebrush as my crease brush since March and it has replaced my love for the MAC 217 brush. Don't get me wrong, I still love the 217s for people with more eye space, but for someone who has my eye shape, I don't have a lot of crease space, so the pointed tip of the Chanel brush works better for my eye shape!
Non-Beauty Favorites:
1. David Yurman Cable Wrap Ring - I've pretty much have them on my right ring-finger since I got them last December. I just really love how they make a statement but they are not obnoxious! Plus, it doesn't hurt that I get so many compliments from strangers when they see it!
2. Tieks Flats in Rose Gold - Wore these shoes sooo much during my trip and until now! I'm obsessed with them. They work well with any type of outfit I wear, whether it be dressing up a pair of jeans and a tee or pairing them with dressier dress/outfit. or They really are the perfect rose gold flats!
3. ACOTAR Series by Sarah J. Maas - I was in a reading slump over the Summer. I couldn't really get into any new books because of my Lunar Chronicles series hangover. I've read some stand-alone novels for the past few months and loved many of them, but I wasn't as invested in their stories as I usually am. Then came this series....and oh my gosh let me tell you, if you love reading YA novels and you're into fantasy stories then you definitely need to read this series, like now! ASAP!
4. Starbucks Flat White with White Mocha - I've been really into warm drinks lately, even though, I used to not like them at all. The flat white is steamed so well and it just makes me feel so cozy drinking it especially in the cool Fall mornings.
Things I'm Looking Forward to this Fall:
1. Fall/Winter-Scented Candles - Because my all time favorite scents are fresh balsam, flannel and sparkling icicles and while I do burn them whenever I want, nothing beats burning these candle on chilly cozy-night-ins around the Fall and Holiday time.
2. Huda Beauty Rose Gold Palette - I've been seeing this palette on Instagram recently, and I'm really interested in her sparkly shades. I also really like the color scheme of the palette, so I'm definitely going to get it once Sephora has it in stock. Unfortunately, it sold out on her website quickly both times she launched it.
3. HalloThanksMas! - My favorite time of the year, around late October to December when it's just very festive and all about family and our loved ones. For me this is the most exciting time of the year, and I really can't wait for this season the kick off!
