As some of you know, Natasha Denona's eyeshadows are one of my most favorite in the market. I am keen on pretty much purchasing every palette she's come out with, and to date I own all of her larger palettes.  For this Spring, Natasha Denona has released a new colorful palette with 15 new shades that are filled with pastels, pops of tropical color and some neutrals to balance it all out! I mean, to put it simply I just fell in love with the color selection of this palette, so once it became available, I ordered it ASAP! Just like most of her larger palettes, the new Tropic Palette is priced at $129.00 and has a range of different eyeshadow finishes from matte to metallic to satin and sparkles.

First Impressions

Upon seeing the promotional photos, I was so excited to try out the palette especially its brighter colors. I must admit, wearing colorful eyeshadows are not my thing, but I always find them fun to wear every so often, and it's interesting to play with them and integrate them with my more neutral makeup looks. I like that this palette contains brighter and more vivid hues that lean more on the matte/satin formulation as opposed to metallics that are more jewel-toned. Also I don't usually bring up anything about packaging unless it's design is very pretty or it's bothersome to properly use the product, but I love how big the mirror is in this palette and how it just stays in place.

Upon swatching the colors, I immediately realized that the mattes are still very pigmented while maintaining a very smooth creamy texture and this was consistent even on the brighter colors. Usually, most bright mattes I've tried tend to go on quite dry, and even a little bit chalky, which was definitely not the case for these ones. The neutral mattes and the metallic shades are also very pigmented and creamy. The only shadow formulation that might be deceptive was Mint Frost because at first swatch I felt it needed a lot of work to apply evenly as it was more of a gritty texture and seemed like it would be best to use it as an eyeshadow topper, however, the more I played around with it the more I realized that it's actually a very creamy and pigmented metallic shade with a beautiful sparkle to it.

Wear

The first time I wore the eyeshadows in this palette was actually unexpected because I planned to try it out for a Spring makeup look. However, one morning I decided to be spontaneous and use the neutrals in it for my everyday makeup look.   I definitely loved the range of neutral colors in this palette, especially Fake Tan, as it is the perfect crease color form me. Vintage taupe is right now my favorite all-over lid color and Sangria is just the perfect matte berry color for a warmer eyeshadow look. I found that the eyeshadows lasted my usual 12-hour plus wear with very minimal wear throughout the day.

For the second time I played around with the palette, I wanted to test how well the brighter colors wore especially if they held their vibrancy throughout the day. The brighter colors I wore were Laguna, Zena and Gusti. I love how well these shadows blended very seamlessly without compromising their color vibrancy and they stayed true to color for the entire time I wore them (approx. 7-8 hours). I've also worn the other brighter colors in the palette (aka the entire bottom row) since then, and have gotten similar wear from them.

Final Verdict

Overall, I really enjoyed using the different color range in this palette. The Natasha Denona Tropic Palette is a wonderful palette option if you want a combination of neutral and bright colors in one palette. As I said earlier, I looove the color selection of the palette! It's definitely perfect for the coming Spring and Summer season. I've been reaching for this palette often since I've had it and I am definitely taking this palette with me to my future trips lined up for Spring and Summer.  I always like it when I can do a complete makeup look with an entire palette, especially when it's dominated by colorful eyeshadows. As usual, the quality of the eyeshadows are superb - they are creamy, smooth, very pigmented, stayed true to color and blended like a dream. What more can you ask for? I definitely recommend picking up this palette if you want a more colorful eyeshadow palette for the coming season and don't mind a bit of a splurge!
